Busy weekend

We've been so buys the past few days! On Thursday we entered Joseph and Elle in the local Family Fun Week Kiddie Parade. My parents put together a "float" that Joseph pulled on the back of his 4 wheeler. The theme of the float was "Escape to Hawaii". It was pretty cute. It even had a tape playing Hawaiin music as he drove along. He wore a little Hawaiin outfit and as he drove down the street he waved to everyone watching and yelled "Aloha!". I think what may have given us the last little push to win first place though was Elle in her bikini and grass skirt. I promise I'll post pictures soon. It's just about the cutest thing you've ever seen. Joseph was really excited to win first place for the second year in a row.

On Friday night through Saturday morning we had the Relay for Life. That's always fun. Joseph stayed the whole time and he did just great. He was even able to sleep for 6 hours or so. The silent auction items donated did well too and raised nearly $100 putting our team total raised at around $1800. So that's good.

Sunday was a baby shower for one of my cousins. Seeing her so excited for her baby has made me want another. I know Elle's still a baby but I miss having a tiny baby around. Can I really be saying this? It wasn't that long ago that I was still sobbing at night because Elle was waking up every hour on the hour to nurse. And have I really forgotten how miserable I was at the end of my last pregnancy? Yeah, I guess I have. I want another baby!

Rewards

Who ever said motherhood is a thankless job? Yesterday Joseph grabbed a stack of paper and some crayons and sat himself down to work on a project. He scribbled for about 15 minutes and all I heard him say was the occasional mumble of "Oh yeah, she has two eyes, not one." and "This color is good for a shirt." After a while be brought me a "book" that he had made. It had pictures of the two of us together doing various things and he had carfully signed his name at the bottom of each page. He asked me if I could write the title of the book on the cover for him. What was the title? "I love you Mommy". Cripes, I was just a big puddle of happy, melted mommy.

Congratulations to my sweet baby boy on raising $215 for the Relay for Life. He's a monster!

A post from Joseph

Everybody, welcome! Send me money for the Relay for Life on my site. I'm in preschool so give me money. Adios. I want people to think I'm speaking French. That means goodbye. That's all

Lack of news

I'm just updating to say that I really don't have much to say.

Elle's second tooth is still hiding and continuing to bother her once in a while. I'm sure it's going to come in any time now but I've been thinking that for a week now.

Joseph is continuing to sleep in his room at night without climbing into bed with us. He had one little slip up last night but otherwise Jesse and I have had our bed to ourselves.

We went to Monday Night Class this week. The lady who never shuts up continued to never shut up tonight. She's just terrible. I have to restrain myself from banging my head against the table whenever she opens her mouth to talk. It's nearly impossible to get a word in edgewise once she gtes going. We're supposed to be meeting to exchange ideas and discuss problems but she seems to think it's just a platform for her tell one long, rambling, pointless story after another. She's utterly clueless too. She doesn't even seem to notice that when she starts talking that everyone just stares off into space, trying to will themselves to a happier place.

Relay for Life meeting tomorrow. Gah. Why did I say I would be the captain? Ben, I think I have a fun game we could play. Email me if you're interested. It would require a couple of minutes on-line a day if you could swing it.

A good week

Pretty much everything was was going so rough with Joseph last week is going really smoothly this week. He's been sleeping in his ded every night, most nights not even coming into our room even once. He's listening the first time we tell him to do something (most of the time, he is 5 after all). He's been trying really hard in therapy. We didn't get a single bad report from school. My hope is that we're done with whatever little rough spot that was last week.

Elle's second tooth is thisclose to coming in. She's been a little bit crabby because of it but she's so good natured to start out with that it's nothing too bad. She's discovered screaming now. She does it all the time. She'll just lay there making these high pitched little shrieks for no reason at all. If Joseph's near here she screams until he comes over and pays attention to her then screams again if he leaves. She loves her big brother.

I have to get on the ball and start getting the Relay for Life stuff in order. Ugh. I am no good at organization. Oh well, it's all for a good cause so I suppose I can get my rear in gear for once.

Are you all watching Top Chef on Bravo? Do you all hate Steven (Stephen?) as much as I do? The guy is a complete tool. He's so pleased with himself all the time. It's a little unreal to watch because you almost think that he has to be joking. No one can be that self-satisfied and smug. Well, Steven/Stephen can! He can do anything! Just ask him.

What's new?

Well, let's see. The Relay for Life went really well. In addition to the money we raised before the relay we raised nearly $100 there doing Reiki. Our silent auction stuff sold and raised some good money too I think. I won a bottle of root beer and a certificate for a free pizza. All in all a pretty successful day.

On Wed. Joseph is going to be in the Waite Park Kiddie Parade. Mom and Dad made him a float that he's going to pull along behind him on his little 4 wheeler. The theme of it is "Halloween in June". It's pretty cute. He's been practicing his parade wave and asking me every 3 seconds if it's time for the parade now? Now? Now? How about now?

Joseph has some kind of nasty, hacking cough going on. He has a doctors appointment tomorrow but for now he's pretty unhappy. He also feels a little bit warm so I'm keeping him full of Tylenol and juice and trying to get him to rest. Luckily there is a Sponge Bob marathon on TV today.

Last year we had a couple of ants in out kitchen and I put out some Terro and the problem went away in about 2 days. Yesterday I noticed 2 ants on a kitchen window and I put out a little bit of Terro. When I went back in later there were ants all over the stuff. I could watch those ants all day. They come marching up all serious like and start to drink. Then you can see their little bellies (?) start to swell up. When they're full they stagger off like they're drunk and then 2 more come and take their place. I put out more stuff this morning but there haven't been any ants there yet. I hope that takes care of that.

I'm 22 weeks pregnant now. By now the baby weighs about 15 ounces and is nearly 11 inches long and has developed eyebrows. Also, the baby's first little poop is developing. How sweet! I feel her move all the time now. Most often I feel her early in the afternoon or late at night. Babies at this stage get hiccups all the time so that's probably what I'm feeling.
