What Joseph just said to me

I swear to god that this is 100% true. One minute he's eating his lunch of applesauce and a peanut butter sandwich and the next he looks up at me and says:

"If I want to attract a mate when I grow up then I'm going to have to get a wig."

<---- Is concerned that his short hair will leave him lonely in his adulthood.

That's too funny!

Have you ever read The Incident of the Dog in the Nightime? Or something close to that. It's written from the perspective of a teenager with Autism and some of this stuff I reading about Joseph so reminds me of the book. It's a great fictional novel.

tonya - He's one of a kind, that's for sure. Happy WW!

smiling mom - He cracks me up.

cathy - I LOVE that book. A lot of it reminded me of Joseph and it gave me some insight into how he might think sometimes.

alison - Ijust wonder what made him think about that.

I had Eldest read that book when she was in middle school. Her perspective on it was VERY interesting. We talked about it for hours. She totally understood that boy. It freaked me out a bit.

Have you told him that bald men are hot?

Oof...don't overcompensate and let him grow his hair out like Kate Hudson's kid. :-)

That is awesome. And I love the very serious look he's giving you in that picture.

wheelsonthebus - He's a nut. He makes me laugh every day.

laggin - I think it's a good book for anyone dealing with an Aspie to read. Really gives an inside perspective.

mandy - It's true. He's a sweetie.

laggin - Know, because I don't think that's true I'm afraid.

manager - Ha! I don't think that will happen. Joseph likes to wear his hair in what I call the "farmer boy" style. Shaved short at the start of summer then allowed to grow out before returning to school.

andi - Well, he's got a lot on his mind! Attracing a mate is serious bussines.

krissy - He's pretty sweet alright. And goofy.
