Nice ads, whore

So whatdo you think about these Pay Per Post ads? And no, this is not a sponsored post, it's just me talking about them. See, I guess in the blogging world PPP are kind of looked down on. People come here for stories about baby poop and when you get here and find me babbling on about light fixtures or dating sites then you're probably confused and angry and scared. You want baby poop dammit!

So why do I do these ads if they're such an eyesore? It's simple really. We're a four person family surviving on a single income. We've made it work for the most part but we do have to skimp on a lot of the exras. So when I'm able to bring in $5 here and $6 there through things like this then I have to kind of jump on that. It helps us out a little bit in the places where our budget is stretched thin.

I find these PPP things to require very little effort for the payoff. I'm able to make a lot more money on ebay (that's my real money maker there) but this is quicker and easier. I've dabbled a little bit in survey taking and mystery shopping and I've been paid for both but I thought they were both more trouble than the payoff was worth. This is easy and so I think I want to keep doing it.

I've tired to keep my PPP posts pretty short and somewhat amusing but if you really hate them I'll make them easier for you to skip. I'll have them all in a different font or something from here on out. Maybe italics like the post before this one was? It's not like I have a huge readership but I am curious what people think. Do you mind the posts? Am I selling out what little integrity I had the blogging world? Or is it all good and no one really cares?

Jen, I like your pay for posts! And, you are doing what your son suggested last summer...you are being an "octpanerd"... finding ingenious ways to make a little cash... to add to your cache!!! Nothing wrong with that.... it is the American Capitalist way!! I don't have the time to play on the internet, so your ads for pay, are helpful to me..... and they make me smile!! So, you go girl!!! If you can make a buck (or ten) for a few minutes work, I think that's great. I don't usually comment on your PPPs because I don't want my tendency to mock things (which you probably haven't noticed) to screw up your deal, in case any PPP honchos or the folks from the service/product being advertised are spot-checking these things. And you do a nice job with talking about the product and making it interesting, so I don't think you need to make them easier to skip.

First, much like there is no crying in baseball, there is no integrity on the internet.

Second, anyone who is giving you shit over PPP ads needs to be effed in the a because unless they're offering to send you a check every month, it's none of their damn business.

I do the payperpost on my site too and sometimes feel guilty, but I do try to make it fit my style. I also like the little extra it gives me. It pays for my site (mine is a self-hosted version).

So don't let people talk bad about PPP, they are good to almost everyone they are involved with.

OFF WITH HER HEAD! WALK THE PLANK! AVAST!!!!!

I don't usually take issue, though I wonder about the unintentionally funny ones. The goth jewelry one or the black dating site, good times for me, but not necessarily as intended.

However, that said, you're makin' that cheese so if you want to start pimpin' whores it's all good to me.

See, now this makes it seems like it's okay to harp about your posts, but maybe effed in the a isn't received the same by everyone?

This should show you how little I know.....I have never even heard of these things! If your ashamed for doing them, imagine how I feel because I have never even been asked! :)

Do what you gotta do....that's my motto!

Judy - "Octapanerd", I had forgotten all about that. Funny kid.

tog - I also wondered about if they would accept my posts if every time I made one all my blogging friends mocked it. Then they accepted mt "black dating" one after everyone laughed at that so maybe it's not a problem.

charming - No one's said anything yet but I kind if wish they would so that I could threaten to eff them in the a. Don't talk about effing in the a anymore though. My dad is reading this!

jennifer - Thanks! Glad to know I'm not the only one trying to balance that all out.

YF - Dad, "eff in the a" is new slang for "putting on make-up".

sticky- You're right. Some people really like putting on make-up so it could be a good thing. (Just play along, my dad might still be reading.)

queen - Sign up with Pay Per Post! It's easy! Use the banner on my sidebar. Earn me money!

sheli- You've just been looking for an excuse to call me that haven't you? I know how you are. I bet you like to put on a lot of makeup too.

Wiggity wha? I also just thought you liked jewelry and Christian dating sites. I thought Pay Per Post was an in-joke or something. Is...is George C. Scott involved in this?

But yeah, I don't mind and actually I kind of agree that anyone who does should sort of get over themselves. Because...it's your blog and you can do what you want with it. As long as you don't stop with the baby poop, because I've become attached.
