I pretty much gave up on Disneys sensibility when they decided to make Mulan II, but yesterday I saw a poster for Bambi Freakin' II. (Hey, maybe in this version Hillary Duff gets shot!)
You can't blame Disney too much though. Their theatrical releases don't exactly pull in the cash they used to, and direct to video is an easy profit.
Of course Walt wouldn't have approved. Most of the old movies that are now seen as classics lost money hand over fist when they were first released. But he always refused to dilute his product or compromise his vision. Well, thats why we've got Disneyland Hong Kong now I guess.
